Governor Jindal Turns Down Stimulus Money For Unemployment Insurance

He fears that the money will run out in three years.

"We must be careful and thoughtful as we examine all the strings attached to the funding in this package. We cannot grow government in an unsustainable way."

Prudence -fair enough; but dear prudence, won't you open up your eyes?.  If you were going to be careful and thoughtful wouldn't you a) not decide to be the first of 50 people to turn something down b) not provide a transparent ideological response to it that makes very little sense?  Or to put it more succinctly: @#$@#%#@%@$#%.

BRADENTON, Fla. -- The story of Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel has made its way around. And around. And around again.

The two pitchers made international headlines in November when they became the first Indian-born players to sign professional baseball contracts in the United States. That type of story -- one that featured two young pitchers who had never picked up a baseball before 2008 -- obviously drew significant intrigue.

Open Thread: Neat Website

Capitol Words takes the U.S. Congressional record and looks at the words in it.  For example, don't ever let anyone tell you again that Congress never talks about imperialism.  In the last 7 years, there have  been several days on which it was entered into the record almost 10 times!    Of course, there have  been several days on which the word report was entered into the record almost 10,000 times.
